l know how this government is supposed to run. I have extensive experience working for Grand Island and working with several different federal, state, and local government agencies. I promise to be fully accountable to you and responsibly use taxpayer money to improve our great town.
I started in 1986 and worked for the Department of Engineering and Water Resources over 31 years. I was promoted to Town Engineer in 2002 and in 2005, I took over the supervision of the Water and Wastewater Departments. Unlike Governor Cuomo, I didn't take a pay raise for taking on two additional departments and 25 more employees. I also managed all the Capital Improvement projects for the Town, not only involving Water and Wastewater but Roads, Building Improvements, Traffic Signals and Drainage Improvements. I administered contracts for Solid Waste Collection, Electrical and Plumbing repairs and HVAC Maintenance.
As your Town Supervisor, I will be accountable to you. I will hold regular office hours and be available to the citizens of Grand Island. I will treat the office with the respect it deserves, and it will be done in a civil manner.
I helped create the "Five Year Capital Plan" for Grand Island. This plan looks at all current and future expenditures and is used to help keep the Town indebtedness in check. Spending your tax dollars wisely is my main concern. We will actively seek out grant opportunities to help us rebuild aging infrastructure. This will be done employing my experience to get grants not just for the sake of getting them but getting grants that will be successful.
In my career I have worked with the Town Board, the Planning Board, served the Plumbing Board as well as the Special Districts Committee and the Sidewalk and Bike Path Committee. In addition I have worked the following Federal, State, and County agencies.
Environmental Protection Agency
Army Corps of Engineers
Department of Environment and Planning
